More Than One Story In Cuban Street Baseball

More Than One Story In Cuban Street Baseball

In Cuba “street baseball”, locally having rules known and respected by everyone, is called “cuatro esquinas” (four corners) and is one of the preferred games to play in the neighbourhood. The top image below is a classic four corners game with at least one observer besides the photographer. One baseball participant, reluctantly, had to take time off to run upstairs and save the raptor that is sitting in the upper left balcony. It became entangled in the short leash which restrained it to a few feet of movement in any direction as it tried to do what raptors do well. Fly.

The future of the bird? The bird’s young caretaker? The future of the boys in baseball? Often there is more than one story in street images.
