Elephants! Oh My!
Jaipur may be called Pink City but there are warm, yellow walls everywhere high above the city at Amer or Amber Fort. Like many places in northern India travelers and, in particular, the travel photographer could spend days steeped in the history. The settlement of Amer was flourishing back in 960 but the present structure, including several spectacular palaces, was built about 500 years later.
As fascinating as these buildings can be, an elephant ride up to the fort allows a special appreciation for what lies above. Be sure to capture portraiture of the elephants and their caretakers.
